The 2025 Chevy Equinox is made with everyday practicality in mind. It offers easy handling, roomy seating, a well-sized cargo area, and high-tech features. Here’s a detailed look at the new Chevy Equinox.

Performance and Ride Quality

All Equinox trims are powered by a 1.5L turbo four-cylinder engine with an output of 175 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque. The standard CVT and front-wheel drive balance handling and comfort to give you a refined ride. With this setup, the Equinox achieves a decent 26 mpg in the city and 28 mpg on the highway. The available all-wheel drive swaps the CVT for an 8-speed automatic transmission and increases torque to 203 lb-ft.

Seating and Comfort

The Equinox seats five comfortably, with 40 inches of front legroom and nearly 40 inches in the back, which beats most compact SUVs in its class. You’re treated to upscale comfort right from the base LT, with standard cloth seats, heated front seats, and a heated steering wheel. If you’re after something more premium, step up to the RS or ACTIV trims for Evotex or microfiber seats, an 8-way power driver’s seat, and dual-zone automatic climate control.

Audio and Technology

An 11-inch touchscreen infotainment system is standard on the Equinox, giving you a Wi-Fi hotspot and smartphone connectivity via Apple CarPlay or Android Auto. The Google-based interface also allows you to download streaming, social, and navigation apps directly on the display without syncing your phone. You can also use the built-in voice assistant to control audio and give commands.

You’ll also find an 11-inch driver information center with five themes to explore. You can personalize the layout to choose what information is displayed on the screen. The Equinox also includes front and rear USB ports, a six-speaker audio system with AM/FM radio, and an available wireless charging pad.

Driver Assistance

Looking out for you on the road is a suite of driver-assist features with forward collision alert, automatic emergency braking, front pedestrian braking, lane keep assist, and lane departure warning. With IntelliBeam, the headlights automatically switch between high and low beams when you’re driving in the dark. The Equinox also comes with a blind-zone steering assist system, a rear vision camera, and parking sensors.

Cargo Space and Features

You can fit 29.8 cubic feet of cargo in the trunk, which is plenty of space for a small family. The cabin flexes easily, allowing you to tweak the setup when you need more room for cargo. With the rear seats stowed, cargo volume increases to 63.5 cubic feet. The available smart power liftgate opens when it senses the key nearby, making it easy to load up.
